Garrett is the primary supplier to IH for the VT365 (6L) We also use Holset as well. We have had no major problems with our Vt365 except for some fuel line leaks. We supply a base engine to Ford and they take it from there. This si new technology with this turb design and in your application ther may be some bugs to work out. The electronics involved in diesel power is at about the same stage as the gas power plants went thru. But hold on there's more. IH is turning more HP & torque plus an addional 5-8% more fuel millage for later 04's. Ford will reap benifits as well.
Ever here of a VT275 ? Hint-V6 diesel
So are you hinting that the V6 Diesel program may have received the breath of life again?
I don't know if you have much clout over at IH there or not, but I suggest that you post a poll here at FTE and let the 2-5000 active members help decide whether or not this is viable, Ford is going to listen I am sure.
I have heard rumors that Ford and International were working on a 6 banger diesel for the F-150 but the deal went south. Also Toyota may bring out a diesel in one of the trucks they build.

Don't kid yourself Ford listen!! What has Ford done ? Besides buy backs there are alot of folks who have paid 40K+ for a truck that will not get out of it own way.

If people approach FMC with generalities, they aren't going to listen. I have read the posts. There are others that are really happy with their 6.0L powered trucks. There are those who are having problems with their vehicles. I don't hear specifics regarding their dealings with the Ford dealer or the Ford Customer Service people.
When I buy a new vehicle, I expect there will be problems that need to be corrected. You can't manufacture anything as complex as one of these vehicles without some defects.
Are all the Ford truck with 6.0's unsafe? No. Those that have problems need to be fixed.
If Ford doesn't listen, why are they buying back or replacing some of the vehicles that have chronic problems?
SBV45, you are correct, any mass produced “new” unit will have its share of problems.
The difficulty...becomes problematic, when Ford does not respond to these or any
other issues about the 6.0………they are responding and taking care of the problems.
Remember when the F-16 was introduced, it was called a lawn dart, not because it stayed in the air every time it went up. Now look at it “ONE” of the best!
