Hello long time reader first time poster =p. My 2006 f450 was running beautifully with no problems. That was until it was hit head on with a F4 tornado. Needless to say it was my only vehicle to survive. Due to insurance reasons with my policy it had to sit for awhile. It ran fine right after the tornado but now everything has gone to hell. Here's what happened so far in order.
I have healthy CMP/FICM Sync/numbers.
ICP numbers were really off so I replaced the ICP..
Then after I replaced my ICP my IPR numbers went wild so I replaced that.
I wasn't getting enough fuel up to the bowl so I replaced the fuel pump.
I checked every fuse related to make sure every fuse was ok and they are.
Now here's the crazy part. I originally had sync with FICM and CMP but now today I lost sync on both. I'm getting enough power to the FICM 12V 48.5.
IPR/ICP numbers are all good. I bought 2 new heavy duty batteries so i'm getting 12.5 there. So today I tested to make sure the CMP/CKP sensors were getting enough power and they are. Getting to them really sucks btw.
I checked the loom for splits and chaffs with no success. I double checked the connectors on every connection port I could find. Online and Diesel tech Ron says that it's pretty rare for the original to fail. I just feel like I'm missing something.
Is there anyway the computer could be bad and is throwing me the wrong numbers?
Because every time I replace a part then something else either changes or breaks. Next weekend i'm going to replace both sensors. I'm completely open to all suggestions.
Do your injectors buzz, what some might call pre clatter, whilst waiting for the glow plugs?
So I unplugged the PCM bc I wanted to make sure there was power coming out. Well there were 2 pins mushed together. So I unbolted the PCM, straitened the pins. After I did that I tried starting it and now it's saying I have FICM Sync, but not CMP Sync. Now my IPR is 85 ICP.V sporadically jumps from 0.25 to 2.8. So i'm thinking those pins crossing shorted something in the PCU. Do you know if a split in a wire in the loom would do those things to the PCU? Because if there's a possibility that a bad loom can short out the PCU i'll change out my loom first.
Camshaft position sensors on the 6.0Ls don't fail that often and its output heads right over to the PCU.......................my guess is bad PCU, harness, dirty connections, etc........................
Besides whatever happened to the PCM when pulling the loom off, I think you have a high pressure possible leak. Your icp and ipr problems initially and now more issues, showing your ipr at fully closed appears to indicate you can't develop enough oil pressure to start.
You might do an air pressure check to see if an o ring or your stc fitting has failed.
