Has anybody bought a replacement chrome grill from Rock Auto for their 05-07 superduty? The price is far cheaper than anywhere else, including ebay. Just wondering about the quality or if I am missing something...
The best answer would come from someone working in a body shop, so you might get a better response in the general Superduty chapter then here.
There are a few companies that supply to this market, Keystone is one of the more known names. Some are fine, you have to check what certification they state they manufacture to For fit and finish. But it’s still a experience situation. On our MDX the shop had to use an aftermarket light assembly and for two years it’s been fine.
Got mine from Rock Auto. Made in Taiwan, Very well made. Been installed for several years now, No issues. Chrome is done very well. Haven't seen the one I bought on their website for a long time now.

I did parts for a very large body shop from 2000 to 2003, hence my handle (North Point Collision Center Partsman). I purchased parts for 10K repairs in those 3 years and there is a DEFINITE difference in fit and finish for OEM parts vs. aftermarket parts.
The main decision you need to make is how long you plan on keeping your vehicle with $$$ in mind. If you're not keeping it long term then go as cheap as you can (obviously). If you love your truck like I love mine then OEM is the only way to go IMHO. The trick is finding the right balance for your budget. I'm NOT saying all AM parts are bad. I've used a lot of them (good and bad). Just find someone who'll stand behind what you get. Regardless, they don't all last forever, unfortunately.
