Rancho Steering stabilizer..which one

Anyone out there know which model of Rancho steering stabilizer I need for a stock 2017 F350 4x4? New truck and not familiar with what is the stock "lift" and other attributes such as "monotube", dual vs single, aand whether to use the OEM damper mounts or change them out for their mounts.. I just need to settle down the front end when I'm traveling the pot hole ridden interstate here in NE Ohio.

I have stock rancho and I'm swapping it out for a fox. I've never had any luck with rancho. Just my opinion but I think they are junk

RS5415 will mount up to stock mounts.
If you were "leveled" up front I would suggest the dual setup with our monotube shock.
Thanks Matt

Just spend a few more dollars on the fox, I have heard the ranchos make the steering wheel pull to the left.

Wink

That would be a monotube style stabilizer, like our 7000MT or the Fox one...
In a dual setup (with a level) there is no push...

Also if you plan on doing it yourself get a cheap pitman arm puller on Amazon it will make the swap much easier. I didnt get one and had to use a torch and heat it up to get it out. There is just no room to get a good hammer swing in that location.

I put on the 985-24-001 at 7k miles and it's a night and day difference too. Factory unit was completely blown, I compressed it and left it on the garage floor for 3 days and it did not move a 1/4 inch. I didn't have DW ...yet that is....but VERY bad bump steer from the OEM damper being garbage.

I got one from Harbor Freight $15, and it made a world of difference in the install.

I had bumpsteer as well so I installed the 001 about 2 weeks ago. Still have a little bumpsteer but not nearly as bad. My OEM SS wasn't that bad so I'm keeping it as a spare.

I won’t disagree with you that the stock stabilizers on these trucks are junk. But, a true singe steering stabilizer isn’t supposed to push itself out like a shock. The are just supposed to have equal resistance pushing in as well as pulling out. That’s how they are supposed to control the steering oscillation. If it does push itself out then it will cause you to feel that in the steering wheel.

There is not a stock Rancho SS. You may be talking about the Rancho branded Ford shocks that came with the FX4 package, and they are indeed junk. Note - the SS is the same on FX4 or non FX4 trucks.

You heard wrong. The SS doesn't move by itself (had it sitting there for several days fresh out of the box) and there is no pull.

This is the unit I had Ford Put on my truck (and they paid for it....). Its certainly better then the OEM, however I did manage to get the truck to DW with it on - albeit it was a much slower, less violent evolution that resolved quicker then the stock stabilizer. Certainly a improvement. Stock truck in sig.

I’ve had the 001 for about 2 years. No issues at all for me and it made a huge improvement over stock.
