It appears to me to be BD83H50-23103. There's not much to learn here that you probably don't already know.
BD = Ford F-47
83 = Pickup bodystyle
H = Assembly plant Home Office, Windsor Ont.
50 = 1950 model year
23103 = consecutive unit number
Thanks for all the help! Here's my rust bucket not much left in the bed... Got a new used front clip for it, starting to fabricate some patch panels. The truck runs and drives all new brake lines,plugs, wires ,thermostats etc. Still needs a pile of body work and rear leaf springs.
Some of the tables are screwed up, but if you scroll through the thread I think they were fixed and reposted.
I also have a 1950 F-47, and I would love to see more pictures of yours, especially pics of the box, and whatever wood is left in it.

Dudes! I think I have a Canadian Ford F-47 as well. Guy i bought it from said it was a merc' (M47) but the serial number didnt check out. The more I look into it the more it looks like I've got an Ford F47. These things have got to be rare, right?

They're not rare in Canada
Canada produced early F/M series as F47/M47, F68/M68, F135/M135, etc. It was based on the GVWR of 4700, 6800, 13500#
After a couple of years they went with the US designation of F1/M1, F2/M2, etc.
And for those trying to read the codes: Trim 16 Paint 38

I've never tried to collect Canada Ford paint codes.
One place I have noted that trim 16 (interior seats, etc) was red but I can't verify that.
Yours has the actual paint code Ford used but I don't have that one on my list.
Hopefully Canada truck guys will jump in here.
My truck was listed as Trim 16, and had the sorta reddish tinted tan / brown interior.

My trim code is M-18005-C
Seems like the later '48s and up had simpler codes. I'm not sure if maybe they were still using '46-'47 codes when they built my truck. I ordered parts books from '46-'47 I'm gonna see if I can figure it out from those!
