Interior windshield gasket

The long rubber piece between dash and windshield wont stay down on the ends, about the last 6" from the ends. Tried pushing the ends down with ignition key but they come backing out after a couple of days. Any ideas?

Mine's a little dicked up on the one end also. I've got several small interior imperfections that annoy me.

I just noticed this on mine as well. Might have to glue it or something. It comes up on the passenger side.

Great. Now I have to go out and check mine.

It’s only up up on the driver’s side. I pushed it down with a dowel. Let’s see how long it stays there.

Same issue here and have tried the same. I usually have a hat stuck in the corner so I can't see it.

Mine will stay down for a couple of days and then come back up. I wonder if it even has a purpose except to keep stuff from getting lost up there.

Just checked mine, all good. Sounds like a little glue in the corners would solve it.

mine is depressed in a few locations. it has a sticky back that has lost its stick

what is the purpose of it?
has anyone removed it?
has anyone replaced it?

Most of the ones I've seen (mine included) are short leaving the corners exposed and lifting. I took mine to the dealer and they replaced it but then shortly after started curling up and popping out, took it back again and the mechanic noted as "replaced" but when I checked mine is invisible, must be a new part #.
