460 trans problems

I have a 460 with a automatic trans but I am converting it to a manual. I bought a np435 but the input shaft is to long. I am hoping somebody has a solution.

460 only came with auto so you'll have to do a little rigging to make it work. It's been discussed a lot if you search it.

You can use 390 184 tooth flywheel, 302 pilot bushing and your starter.

What is the input shaft size (diameter) & spline count? What did the np 435 come out of originally?

I think it was on a six cylinder the splines are 10. The size where the bearing rides is -.670 and the size of the splines is 1.8

Ford lightduty (F100-F350) np435's use a 1-1/16" diameter input shaft with 10 splines & sticks out 6.5" from the face of trans housing.

What is it that you have?...the measurements you posted, the measurements I posted, or 1 of the 3 input shafts that number dummy posted?

Was, what you think is a six Cylinder an I or V6 ? Was it even a Ford 6 cylinder or maybe a dodge or a chevrolet ?
Did your NP435 come from a Ford, dodge, chevy, an old bread delivery truck, maybe it came from an industrial aircraft tugger??? I have no idea!

Point I'm trying to make, is that the NP435 comes in many configurations & applications.

I was told it was from a small block ford. That’s all I know but it measures up the same as the straight six ford it’s the 1-1/6 one. 10 spline
