460 swap problem
#1
#2
How close can you get it?
How did you align the clutch plate? If it is not perfect, you won't get the trans all the way in.
Are the splines in the clutch plate correct for the input shaft?
Other wags:
--wrong size pilot bushing/bearing
--input shaft too long for bell
If none of this hits the mark, stand by, others might could have more/better or more better ideas.

Yes. Car and truck bells are different depths. But you said you got a bell from a 460? That would be a truck only bell, as no car ever got a MT with a 460. Only a 429 would have had a MT in a car.
Input lengths may have varied for truck applications.
Best pull it and do some measuring, make sure on the pilot too.
What trans is it?
