1996 Interior swap

I have a 96' e350 7.3, I'm looking to swap out the interior for the newer style 97-13' interior. I'm just wondering if its pretty straight forward, and worried about the heat controls and speedo/cluster connections and how much (if any) modifications have to be made. All I really want is the double DIN radio lol.

Almost 100% none or very few of your electrical connections will be the same from 1996 to 1997 and later. Aso, heater controls for the air movement through the ducting etc is vacuum controlled, your year should be cable controlled.

I've never personally R&R'd a completed dash board but it'd be a 50'50 shot if the mounting tabs and screw holes etc would align from '91-'96 to 1997 and later.

Dumb question maybe but have you checked with Crutchfield.com to see what if anything they have for your double DIN install?

Yeah the only thing that fits is single din, no other mounting kits available.

I've watched a lot of YouTube videos of people swapping out interior parts like door panels and seats, etc. with no problems, but have never come across an instrument panel swap. Probably a bunch of changes in fastening and electrical connections to accommodate the "new look" .... probably much more work and headache than it's worth. I would think a good stereo guy could come up with a solution to solve your double DIN desire???
