I think it would take a LOT of work, and possibly some fabrication, but if you have the time and motivation, I don't see why it wouldn't.
The cabs on these trucks didn't change much from 1980 to 1996. I don't know if the mounting spots for the dash are different, though.
If you decide to go this route, keep us posted (and for the love of all that is holy, TAKE PICTURES!)
