Thanks! I downloaded several of the parts pages from another forum including wiring diagrams etc. Gonna be very useful when I start tearing into it.
You may be better off trying to figure out the wiring based on the 1970 wiring diagrams.
Some of the color codes may differ.
Note that there is a subtle difference in the wiring diagrams between the diagrams for gauges and the diagrams for idiot lights.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask, lots of folks hre are willing to share their knowledge.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye on it.
I will be looking at them soon as when I took the truck for a drive tonight (first time in the evening) my dash lights never came on. Only lights in the dash were for the heater controls and a light shining behind the dash. I'll have to check the bulbs to see if they're in and not blown. I know the dimmer switch is working as the heater controls light worked and dimmed as I rotated the light switch. What else is fun, is the high beams don't work. When I press the high beam switch, I get the red indicator on the dash, but the lights go out. I had the same issue on a Toyota Pickup and just needed to clean a contact and wa-la! So I'll look through the wiring diagram and see if there's something I need to check out.
Well, I got the secondary fuel tank up and running. Only issue was flooding the carbs after hooking them up. I took the carb out and drained it. After putting it back on I took all the wires off the plugs to take a look at them. All of them looked great. I put the wires back on one side, and acidently left them off on the other side. Continued to wonder why it still wasn't starting and then realized I didn't put the plug back on the distributor from the coil. That tends to help a bit.... I was wondering why it was missing on what sounded like 2 cylinders, and then looked again and noticed the drivers side wires weren't plugged in. Plugged those in and it ran great! Gotta love learning how to mess with these older vehicles again. Then again, I was born in 80, so these vehicles are only a bit before me.
Unfortunately, the sending unit doesn't register when I switch to the aux tank on the dash. Is there a fuse I can look at to check?
Welcome to FTE and The Bumpside Kingdom.
Nice lookin' rig you found. Congrats.
Sounds like you need to pull the cluster and look at it's wiring and printed circuit board. And all the wiring behind the dash. Not many Bumpsides made it past a PO that wanted to hack the living crap out of the dash harness.

Thanks! And yes, I'll be pulling the cluster soon as I need to check all the lights in it. None of them work with the exception of the heater controls. And I've seen several wires that are cut in the engine bay. When I do start working on it (not till after my wedding and honeymoon) I'll probably just get a new wire harness so I know everything is wired correctly and there isn't any wires just hanging around to cause issues.
