P.O. Strikes Again
But ole Lucky perseveres. Ever since I test drove my 69’ I have heard a rattle from the back end of the truck, thinking it was the spare tire hanger I just left it and added it to the list of things to get to. Well I finally got around to chasing down the rattle I discovered there was to spare tire hanger (actually there is of sorts, he welded a spindle hub to the bottom of frame).
But on to what I found, has anyone ever seen or heard of the nuts backing off the U-bolt for the leaf springs? All eight of the nuts were equally loose about 3/8 of inch, enough so that any time I drove across a crack in the road it sounded like a can of loose nuts!
So after tightening up all the nuts I got to thinking “what was he doing?” Please take a look at these photos and tell me if the frame looks normal. This is a 1969 1/2 ton two wheel drive.

coil
old school,you could by coil for a overload,i did that and overloaded the truck and broke the frame both sides.

Thanks Bill, everything is there. May need to source a new pair of leaf springs eventually.

I have looked at them a few times trying to see where they might be flat and I cant see it?

Look at the last picture, it looks like a flattened pipe. That's why I asked for pictures just trying to confirm.
