Spruce Interior rare?

My new to me 1981 Ranger F-350 XLT dually has Spruce color interior. I’ve heard the color alone is rare. It’s in pretty good condition but needs a little help. I was thinking about re-doing the door panels and buying a new dash. I know they make one in Spruce tho. I have great dash out of a 86 tho. Where would I get a paint or dye to re-do the panels and color change the blue one out of the 86? Any help would be great.

Honestly after seeing hundreds of these trucks and scraping them over the years I have never ever seen the spruce color! Very rare indeed, I would look at the SEM plastic dyes and see what's close in color.

The more I learn about this truck the more “rare” dare I say I wonder if i should just flip it sell it to someone that could restore it properly. Someone that will appreciate for what it. I don’t wanna take a all original less then 45,000 mile truck to a point where it can’t be taken back to its original state again.

I have used SEM plastic dyes be it first in black and now the red for my project.
Yes see what's close in color and go with it, that is what I had to do for the red as it is also a burgundy color. I am redoing all the panels so I know it will match LOL

So you can see what I used the SEM product on
The repair I had to make

I washed the part with soap & water 3 times before using the SEM prep & color.

Does anyone know what is the brand and model of the trailer brake controller mounted beneath the steering column?
Assuming it is a trailer brake controller...

Not sure of the brand or model but definitely look at next time I’m at the property. I know it’s a hydraulic brake controller. I need to. Replace all the brake lines and was contemplating not re-hooking it up but still leaving it there. I’ve seen some other hydraulic brake controllers in some box’s of other parts I got with the he truck. I’ll check them out also

Want to say K&H controler.
It is old school and I thought they worked pretty good, never had any issues with them.
If it is not leaking from inside I would keep it just make sure to bleed it when you do the rest of the system.

Now days with ABS brakes you can use that type so the put a pendulum inside so when you hey the brakes it moves and starts a counter on ramp up of how hard it applies the trailer brakes.
I have that type on my 02 Durango and it also works pretty good.
