Time that it takes for Cam/Crank or FICM sync maybe? You could chart all the PIDs required for starting in IDS/AE/ForScan and see if one is tied to when the engine actually starts, but IMO that's a lot of effort searching for a problem that might not really be an issue at all. Under five seconds is what keeps getting tossed around as "normal", so if your HPO PIDs read fine and it's otherwise all normal, just might be a quirk in your engine that makes it be that way.
I forgot to mention that a new cam/crank sensor was installed when all the work was done.
I'm jealous of the guys with the super fast starts! lol!
I don't think it is a problem I was just curious as to why some trucks fire in <2 seconds and other trucks, even with a bunch of new parts see no change in their "slower" starts.

Thanks!

Try a little cetane booster like Ford PM 22 in the tank, see if it makes a difference.
Nothing wrong with those times Art. The farm I work at on the side has several 6.0's,one of them is a slower starter compared to the other two.
Yep, I did the 6.4 strter upgrade. You'd be amazed at the difference, starts much faster. $83 bucks from DB electrical, no core charge. (no, I don't work for them and they haven't given me anything for saying that, lol)
Getting the thing on/off is a real bear, imho, but worth it.
i have always had around 1 to 1 1/2 second starts. Ever since I purchased it I have religiously used Amsoil Diesel additive, along with fresh batteries and a new starter about a year ago
engine turns over quick and fires right up

Mines always within 2 secs, use synthetic oil and premium grade fuel. Always wait 4-5 secs after the light goes out before cranking as that seems to make a difference - quicker to fire up and cleaner idle straight after
