Its about time for a tuneup on my 1990 E-150 5.8L. I have always used Motorcraft parts. With so many performance parts distributor caps, plugs, wires... I am looking for a quicker response, get up and go. I am not looking so much for increased mpg unless it just happens. Maybe someone has experience with aftermarket performance parts. Noteworthy, stay away from, or just keep it simple. I know there is a lot of experience here at this forum. Thanks in advance for your input.
There is no magic gain for using "performance" tune up parts versus OEM. For the most part the only thing that will happen is your wallet gets thinner faster.

But that lightening of the wallet must be worth .1 second in trap times! (jk)

Only advice I can give is stick with the Motorcraft plugs. Distributor cap ? Get the one with brass terminals. WIres ? Ford Racing 9MM, these run about $40-45 and last forever in a van's hot box. As with the others, there are no magic parts here.
