I saw a Ford Super Duty pickup that was a 99-16 series.
It was a crew cab, dual rear wheel, but it had a short pickup bed.
Did Ford sell a configuration like this?
or did the owner modify his pickup?
The truck had oversized wheels with slim tires, definitely aftermarket.
The wheel/tire size were about the size of what a semi truck would use, but not sure how he found an oversized wheel and equally slim tire to match.
I am thinking the owner probably bought a chassis cab and added the short bed.
They did make trucks in this configuration, but not many. The wheels and tires that you saw on this one were definitely aftermarket, but Ford did make the Duallys in this configuration. From what I hear, most people didn't care for it too much though.
last year in south Texas... a 2010 short bed dually 4x4...
it was carrying a large semi-clear water tank... it was a company truck... all stock looking.. and a diesel..
you can put a dually kit on a short bed. when I had my 2005 5.4 short bed, I costed this out and it was about 6K.
I decieded not to spend the 6k becuase it was cheaper to trade in my 2005 5.4 SB CC 3.X axle on a 2008 V10 6.8 LB CC DRW 4.11 rear
Interesting, I hadn't thought of that.
Reading the replies, thanks everyone, I do recall that the short bed had the fender flares like the full bed on a dual rear wheel... which made me think it was stock.
Neat, think I'll scour the internet for photos of one.
Uh oh! Found an image of the type of wheels/slim tires I saw on that crew cab short bed, but this image is of a F-350 dual rear wheel regular cab with short bed, says the wheels are 26's
Regular cab + 6.75' was not a frame length offered by Ford for a Super Duty.
That picture is an 8' bed though, the 6.75' bed duallys had a fuel port in the front of the driver's fender and no space between the fender and front of the bed. There is a fuel door on the bedside panel in front of the fender on the truck you posted.
Are you referring to the last link?
The description on the site I found it said "Custom 2009 Ford F-350 single cab short bed dually on 26's ...", so it is probably wrong.
If I get time I will try to find the webpage that has the photo, maybe there are other photos of it, I am not able to see any fuel port in that photo. I am assuming the fuel door should be round rather than squared/rectangle. I was mostly focused on the wheels, but the idea of a regular cab with a short bed and dually is an interesting idea.

I have only seen a Ford oem build like this 1 time. It was an airport tow vehicle.

It's hard to see, you don't see the seams around the door so much as the little tab that pops out to open the door.
It's a very starkly obvious difference in short and long bed once you see where the fenders are side by side, long bed has a gap from fender to front of bed, a short bed doesn't. Also you can see how the light makes what's apparently a big difference, but isn't. The second shot you can see the body line coming out of the cab right over the door handles and continuing down the length of the bed. In the first shot the light it as higher angle and that entire body line seems like if disappears, making the fenders appear to be mounting lower, but in comparison to the door handles they line up the same.
