Man what is it with dogs this month , hope the pooch is doing good Andy, last Friday I pulled in the driveway to find two of my dogs out front, the Shepard panting heavy and the Lil dog bleeding , WTH, wrapped him up in a towel and took him to the Vet, at first they said a large dog attack lil dog , but in looking closer I’m saying a Hawk, five puncture wounds , 4 on the body and 1 on the leg, lil dog only weighs 12.5 pounds but the wounds are about 6 to 8” apart , not even my bull mastif teeth are that far , more like a mountain lion but we don’t have big Cats out here , I know it’s rare for a Hawk to attack but not uncommon , here’s my take, both dogs in the back yard , Hawk snatches lil dog but can’t get full flight , just far enough into the pasture to get a second grip catching the leg , the Shepard worried about what just happened jumped the Ranch gate to lil dogs defense , it must of happened all to fast because the Shepard caught the cat one night and I know this dog is fast, the way they both greeted me on that side of the house , tells me they both went out the second gate that has no field fencing on it, and I was only within 15/20 minutes with no dry blood on lil dog , Vets are crazy exspensive into it for 1000 so far and he still has drain tubes in , lil dog is up and moving , just trying to keep the Infection down.

Wow, that is unreal. Glad he was able to be saved. Also glad i don't have any. I would not be able to afford a vet bill like that.

Got my Courtesy Lamp working again. Now I can't find my Cigar Lighter... it may be somewhere in the garage. Found the old automobile power supply for the old laptop, but it doesn't fit the new laptop. Went shopping tonight, found a "universal" power supply that plugs into the Cigar Lighter, but I didn't want to pay their asking price ($54+). Went to a store I don't like shopping at, and found a 150W inverter for $20. I plugged it into the Cigar Lighter, then plugged the laptop's regular "grounded outlet" plug into the inverter. Laptop seems to work fine. The new inverter also has a USB port, for powering other things... like my cell phone.

Did a significant rebuild on my BBQ, because the left (propane) side had holes that had rusted through the back wall of the barrel. Removed the left table (with outboard burner), the front controls and the lid, then removed the lower half of the barrel from the frame. Biggest problem was that the screws were rust-welded into place and had grease that had plugged the slots in the heads of the screws. Old, hard, baked-on grease. Replaced the lower half with a part that I'd bought over a year ago, also replaced all three control valves (and their igniters) and reinstalled the outboard table. I will also replace a couple of the handles that don't work so well any more. Those parts were sitting in a box on the back patio for so long that the local rodents chewed the cardboard up -- looked like they were having quite a party in there. The parts that I need now and couldn't get then are the burners and the heat diffusers. I will use the old ones for now, then see if I can get some generic burners that will work; I may end up bending up my own replacement heat diffusers if I can't find any generic ones that fit correctly. Bending the metal will be simple, even if I have to make a home-made bending brake. I still need to do a 'hot test' on the BBQ; it has to be completely ready to go before I load it into my truck Thursday night. Wow, that's tomorrow... sometimes I feel like the Beatles' "Nowhere Man"... so much to do, so little time to do it all...

Sounds to me like buying a BBQ would have been cheaper and easier to do than rebuilding the one you have. Especially given the time constraints.

That it is. Second night of the Redding Rodeo, a good time to avoid downtown.

Yeah, they have a big rodeo in Clovis once a year, and that too is a good time to avoid going there. Of course, I rarely go to Clovis anyway, but still... LOL

Still hanging out and trying to stay cool. It's supposed to be in the low 90's here today and I'm watching the thunderheads build over the mountains. It's going to be a LONG summer.

Out of all of the reasons I can think of to avoid Clovis, "Rodeo" isn't on the list...

Made it back from the music fest... cooked 16 racks of ribs, 9 Pineapples, 8 heads of cauliflower, 2 cases of corn on the cob and gave out a case of oranges.... I'm STILL washing things and putting them away

Had an awesome time
