Happy May fellers, picked this up for the 302.....going to clean it up, new studs and clear coat it. Thinking about putting Edelbrock 1404s on her, anyone have any experience?

No experience. Looks awesome though, hope you have very steep gears to run it with.

Happy Saturday gang.

Bought a steering wheel/pedals setup for my computer. Makes driving in the Euro Truck Sim much easier, and not too mention more realistic.

Is that Offenhauser one of those 2-channel arrangements (smaller channels for the low speed)?

Took the truck out for a daytrip yesterday. It hasn't been running well since December, but I finally got some good adjustments.

Went from my home, in Contra Costa County, across the Benicia Bridge, to Cordelia Junction, past Sacramento, to Auburn, then north on 49 through Grass Valley to Nevada City. From there, I stayed on 49 and headed to Camptonville.

Chatted with a friend about the arrangements for an event he's having, then drove home. I'd have called him, but he lives off-grid and I really needed to eyeball his property to get a better feel for the preparations we're making.

The truck stil smells like it's running rich, but it doesn't seem to be producing as much heat as it used to.

All-in-all, it was a good day.

Yeah, was a relief, even when the old lady said "You spent HOW MUCH?!?"

(She should be glad I didn't drive to one of the casinos!)

Well, shoot!

I just went outside and noticed that the left rear tire is way-low

Wonder if the spare's any good... ok, guess the truck wants some more attention

Ok, so I dropped the spare down from under the bed... was grateful that I'd recently replaced the padlock on the safety chain... found a burned spot on the NEW spare... from where the tire had rubbed up against the exhaust pipe... the heat of the exhaust just cooked that part of the tire... hope it holds air long enough for me to get the other tire to the shop on Monday... BTW, I found out why the tire was low, it'd picked up a screw... and I'm missing the breaker bar, extension and impact socket that I kept in the built-in tool box

<WISHFULTHINKING>If I can get to the point where I don't have to spend any money on this truck, maybe I can afford to throw a BBQ party.</WISHFULTHINKING>

We need rain, not 90 degree temps! Just checked the forecast, and I did not know summer was already here. Living in a valley sucks when it gets hot.
