Broke off side step
Went 4-wheelin last weekend went over about a 3' drop off landing on the right side step and snapped that puppy right off. After the initial awe s*** I thought no problem I'll just weld the brackets that broke back together. WRONG, they are not made of aluminum. Anyone know what material they're made of? Now I'm making a templet of the brackets and will make a set out of steel. Don't think those will snap off they'll probably bend the heck out of the body instead. Help on identifying the material would be great I'd rather weld them back together than make new ones.

The brackets for my '03 were steel IIRC (don't know what grade). I also ripped a nerf off while on the trails some years ago. Personally I'd rather break some brackets then bend/rip the body.
