Craftsman Rivet Guns
I purchased a Craftsman rivet gun for my dad's fathers' day gift. I opted for the more expensive one because it is capable of using Stainless Rivets. Good idea or bad idea? Will the cheaper ones do stainless even though they don't advertise it.

Probably a good idea. Stainless steel rivets take more power to set than the more commonly used aluminum rivets. Riveters that can set SS rivets are usually built stronger and more durable than those that don't set SS rivets. At least you can be pretty sure this one will do the job if you have to set steel rivets. Riveters that don't state they can set steel rivets may or may not do the job. There are a lot of cheapy Asian riverters out there that won't set SS rivets, at least not correctly, and you just never know with one of them. You did the right thing and I'm sure your Dad will like it.
