Master cylinder recommendation
Hey y'all, i'm new to the IDI world I have a 99' super duty so have plenty of diesel experience though. I was looking online for a new master cylinder and keep finding them but without speed controls. I'm assuming thats cruise, my truck (a 1993 IDI 250 non turbo) does have cruise. I know most of them have a clip that does the cruise in the back of the master cylinder, when it says without cruise do I need to just put that switch on the new one or do I need to find one that says with cruise? I typically go motorcraft for break parts because I want to be able to trust them, but if someone has any recommendations for a MS thats as good or better im all ears! part numbers would help. Thanks!

I just replaced the master cylinder in my 86 f250. It's a different MC than the one used on OBS trucks, but I've found the best bet for parts like the MC is to buy the cheapest one you can with a lifetime warranty from the local auto parts store. You can sometimes find parts cheaper on RockAuto or Amazon but it would be a PITA getting a warranty replacement. Just my $.02.

You need the master cylinder for cruise because it has an extra port for a pressure sensor, otherwise when you step on the brakes it won't turn the cruise off.
Make sure you get a NEW one and not some cheap shoddy rebuilt one..
