Cruise

can anyone explain how the cruise control works and how i can fix it? im not sure what exactly is wrong but anything can help

Is it plugged in at the master cylinder? Has the recall been done?

not sure what the recall is... i just took it out and everything was plugged in

There is a recall for the switch on the brake master cylinder. It is known to short and cause fires. They give you a fuseable link for that connection.

If the truck is a 1990 F250, it will not have that switch on the master cylinder. Best place to start looking is fuses and the brake switch. Also there is a vacuum dump valve on the brake pedal that can get out of alignment. The valve is in closed posisition when the pedal is up, open when brake pedal is pressed to dump the vacuum out of the servo. This is what went out on my 89 F250 and was easy to fix. Just have to wiggle under the brake pedal assy and adjust the location of the vacuum valve.
