How do I tell if my fan clutch is operating correctly? Everything I can find on the internet seems to explain how to test with it on the vehicle. I have mine off the truck currently because I was replacing the water pump and radiator.
If I hold the mounting shaft/plate, should I be able to spin the fan and it "free spin"? or should there be enough resistance it should stop almost immediately? If I give mine a 2-3 pushes it will spin a couple of times before stopping. Is this normal?
