#8 COP

I have a 99 F250LD 4x4 w/5.4l . #8 COP is bad and wondering if that thing will clear the fuel rail when removing or will
the fuel rail have to be raised. Looks close because of the bend in the rail. I appreciate your input.

I would replace all 8. If one goes now, and they are all the same age, you'll be doing more shortly. And remove the rail.

I've replaced most of them, only 3 with more than 20k miles. I'll probably just replace as needed. Thanks for the reply.

When I changed mine in a 99 5.4L Expedition I had to lift the fuel rail up and out of the way.

to install coils on my 01 5.4 I had to raise the fuel rail on the driver's side .. but not on the passenger side

also note if you drop one of the fuel rail mounting bolts down into the truck and lose it .. one from the power steering jug fits just fine - and there are three there so pinching one won't hurt

DON'T FORGET to make sure your sparkplugs are tight .. but not to tight there's only 4 threads in the head

UPDATE on #8 COP

Just an update on the #8 COP replacement. You DO NOT have to remove the fuel rail. Slid right out. In fact it was one of the easiest to replace. Thanks for all of the replies.
