If the option was not there from the factory I wouldn't think so. If the harness is under the front seats, or in the kick panels I't may plug right in but I do believe you would need to flash the BCM to communicate with the steps. Anyone else?
It has been said that they are actually manufactured by AMP Research for FoMoCo. You may can just order some directly from AMP cheaper than OEM for the exact same steps.
The reason I asking I found a set off a 17 for $750
The reason I asking I found a set off a 17 for $750 these are the oem ford. The truck is at a mod shop getting customs work done. They are new. Several other oem parts for sale wheels and tires shocks grill
does anyone know if the oem PowerSteps is plug and play.
No they are not and you can`t order them from Amp Research because the wiring is different.
However, the OEM Power Steps can be installed but they will require other wiring harnesses plus the steps and related parts and you`ll end up paying more than buying the Amp version. .
This swap has been done and it was detailed in the F150 section with all of the OEM part#s that were used and required for the install and yes, it was done on the current generation F150`s which is the same cab as the current SD`s.

A guy added the factory steps with a great write up in the SD threads and to me it was much too much work.
The amp system seemed much easier to install. The only negative to Amp is that if you want the option to hold them open or closed, you have to mount a 3 way switch somewhere.

With the AMP's you can put light pressure on them after you shut the door to keep them locked down. You can unplug the OBDII connection and they will lock in the up position(even if they are down when you unplug them they will retract and stay up). maybe not as user friendly as a 3 way switch, but it can be done.
Ford steps also stay down when you apply pressure and close the door...
I would get the AMPs if you never plan on tuning the truck or hooking up a diagnostic monitor that is always plugged in. I have a Bluetooth ODBLINK which I was going to use only for forescan mods, but I use it more on long haul and towing to read engine temps.. I will eventually get the OEM deployable steps because of this (and you gain access to additional options in the gauge cluster)

I priced all the parts for the factory steps which did not include the wiring harness you would have to build. The parts were $2400. Dealer would make a little bit of a deal but I could not justify them. Also not the biggest fan of the chrome strip on the factory boards. I went with the amp steps for $1200. I purchased a $15 OBD splitter on amazon and used the factory bolts so I could still have an open OBD port. At some point I plan to find which wire to tap on the OBD port that the amp steps are looking for.
