Ford news Sad to me.
Ford is killing off nearly all of its cars in favor of SUVs | Fox News
which means those of us that also have Ford cars in our stable will have to change brands or move to the more expensive Lincoln.

There's also the possibility of another economic meltdown. If this occurs, sales of gas guzzling trucks & SUV's will sink faster than the RMS Titanic.
Sean: Honda Accord & Toyota Camry assembled in the USA, Fusion assembled in Mexico.
I know that Kia & Hyundai are from South Korea, but don't know if either is assembled in the USA
What other cars are assembled in Asia that are sold here? Don't say Buick, cuz the Buick sold in China is a rebadged Daewoo!

This graph shows passenger car sales in the United States between January 2017 and 2018 sorted by manufacturer. In January 2017, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. sold more than 167,000 passenger cars here. Japan's Toyota is one of the largest automobile manufacturers worldwide. When oil prices skyrocket again our Gov't (you and me) will bail out any failures in the big 3.
Volvo S60, Ford Focus (scheduled fore 2019, but not anymore), Caddy CT6, Buick Envision, and lotsa phones .

I suppose a successful company has to build what is selling today, not what they think will sell 5 years from now. Still, to kill off model names completely seems shortsighted. Even if you only break even on a model, why not keep it in your hip pocket for when the (IMO) inevitable downturn happens? Ford has brought models back from the dead before, lots of them in fact. They can probably turn them back on pretty fast, once that decision is made. Making the decision is the hard part, and that is why the CEO makes 167 times the average hourly wage.

Continental has been dug up three times: 1940/48, 1956/57, 1969/97.
Ranger has also been dug up three times, four times if you count the 1950/52 Marmon-Herrington F1 panel truck conversion. M-H added windows, a 2nd row seat and 4WD, called it a Ranger.
Another dug up three times: 1955 Lincoln Futura "Dream Car" converted by George Barris into the Batmobile used in the TV show. 1962/63 Falcon Futura, 1978/83 Fairmont Futura.
When Lee Iacocca put a vinyl roof on the Falcon 2dr sedan, then called it the Futura, 'The Deuce' said it was like putting falsies on grandma!

This was posted on my RV forum, where we are discussing the same thing.
"Ok same theme,I just read an article that the Honda Accords are not selling and stocks are high. In their luxury line the Acura is in in trouble and stocks of sedans are also high. Honda does not have much in the way of SUVs so they are scrambling to stay alive in the US market. Who'd a thunk it! Five years ago Honda was blowing and going. Markets change. The domestic big three are just making wise choices for the foreseeable future."
