Engine coolant temp sensor
A few weeks ago I had a few fault codes when my check engine light came on. The first two were O2 sensors that have since been replaced and those codes haven't returned. The third code was for "engine temperature sensor reading too low". So I bought a new sensor for around $22 and I haven't gotten around to installing it yet, mainly because I've read that I'll have to drain some coolant first and I just haven't had the time. Anyway, a few days ago the check engine light turns off and hasn't come back on since with multiple starts/stops/on's/off's. The bulb is not burned out. Just to give all of the facts the temperature gauge on my instrument cluster is operating just fine.
So why did my light turn off? Problems don't just fix themselves... Right?
