HELP
Hello, I have a 2000 F-250 with the v-10. When the battery is hooked up, the starter will engage by itself. With the key in the ignition or not. When it does that, I turned the key to ON and it idled fine then tried to re-engage the starter. I turned the truck off, but it was still trying to engage the starter. I tried replacing the solenoid and battery. Still doing this. WTF?! I was a ford tech and can’t figure this bull out.

The small leads on the start relay are on the wrong terminals.
The way it is now, you have battery on the start relay winding full time.
That's the job of the ignition switch through the transmission selector in Park and Neutral when you crank the engine.
