Starter sticking on
ok guys my starter go stuck on with key disengaged about 1 month ago Friend the positive terminal messed up the starter and solenoid. I replaced the starter and the solenoid and it got stuck again the next day when it gets stuck i usaully turned the key off and on off and on. Ive been trying to turn the key as fast as possible to prevent it from sticking on and it seems to work. It went off and really didnt have any problems untill today it got stuck on again so I took off the postive cable to prevent a meltdown again and to save the starter. I changed the solenoid again because it was fussed together and staying on. What could be causing this? Im thinks the ignition switch is bad! help me out

Low battery causes this.
The battery should be and stay fully charged.
Take your battery in for load testing.
Do you know how electricity works with humans ?
certain voltages like household voltage throws you away from it.
another voltage WON'T let you ..let go....It just keeps you clung to it until the appendage burns off.
Same kind of thing with battery to relay..
Low battery has enough energy to trip relay on ....but not enough to trip relay off.

That's the part of the solenoid that is bad that's why. If you drive this truck much you would be money ahead to have at least two sol.'s, and two control modules at least. Brain box controls voltage for key start position and retards timing 20 deg for easier starts. Nine times out of ten if you turn the key and the starter won't quit until you yank off the positive cable the cause is the solenoid, the other one out of ten is the ECM. Good Luck, been there for sure.
