When I did the MAF conversion on my 5.0 truck the dash gauges all worked just fine.
Damnit.
I went through and made sure the 2 sensor wires are both plugged in the same spots as the 4.9 I pulled out.
Could I be missing a ground causing the issues?

There are several engine grounds so I doubt that is the problem. If you know what pins the dash gauges are at the bulkhead connectors they should sweep to full when grounded, if that works then your problem is narrowed down. Too much thread sealer on these senders is also known to cause problems with these gauges.

I was just thinking about the thread tape I put on the sensors too lol. **** that might do it.
Its the single wire sensors that go to the gauges correct?

Yes both are single wire.

-On the harness

3. What MAF meter did you use?
-Used a mustang g A9L ecu as I have a manual transmission. And the MAF Meter to go with it

4. What size injectors did you use?
-Stock 19lb injectors from my 5.0

5. I noticed that the wiring diagram for our trucks only show one wire for VSS and the A9L wiring diagram show two (one for VSS+ and one for VSS-). How did you handle that?
-Guessing that's built into the harness like how the harness splits the single O2 sensor reading to satisfy the ecu looking for 2.

I also switched to roller lifters and a ho firing order cam.

Were you happy with the runne-rite harness/kit? How were the instructions included with it? How hard was the install?

I just bought the harness not the whole kit.
No instructions needed for the harness. Remove upper intake and lay the harness on-top of the motor. The connectors are numbered for the cylinder numbers then there a plug for the pcm and plug for the MAF sensor.

I removed the old injector wiring completely from my old harness along with the tab/tad/evr wiring.

Sorry for all the questions... just trying to see what problems I'm going to run into when I do it.
So, for the wires you had to swap around, did you swap them at the EEC or at the 4 Engine Wiring harness connectors... or somewhere else?
Did you get the MAF sensor from runne-rite too or did you source it yourself?

Thank you for your help!

I swapped the wires around at the 4 plug motor harness on the motor side. Was the easiest place to do it.

The MAF sensor I grabbed from a 4.6l crown Victoria at the junk yard. It had the correct numbers to match with the mustang ecu and readily available

Sorry to be a bother, but I just thought of another question:
I know you need different motor mounts when swapping from 4.9L to 5.0L, but do you need different frame brackets too?
