Non stop horn

Happy Monday. My 1983 f150 4x4 with cruise control has a horn that blows constantly. Do I need to replace the horn relay? If so where is it? Or do I need to replace the horn switch? If so where is it located.

if i remember right that was about the same time they had the cruise buttons incorporated in the face of the steering wheel correct?? if so replace the multi-function switch under the wheel.. its probably on its way out causing the internal short. that or when it was last removed something didnt get connected properly.

And you're correct.. The cruise control is integrated into the steering wheel.

its in the column on top. Its what the turnsignal arm is connected to.

We didn't have multi-function switches in these trucks. It was just a turnsignal switch. I don't think it has much to do with the horn. You are just going to have to dive in, take the steering wheel pad off, and see what is causing the problem.

1978/86: No Speed Control, NO horn relay!

D6TZ-13853-A (replaced D3TZ-13853-A) .. Horn Relay-Marked: D3TB-13853-A or D6TB-13853-A (Motorcraft HB-112) / Obsolete

1973/77 F100/350 with/without Speed Control // 1975/77 Econoline with/without Speed Control // 1978/86 F100/350, Bronco & Econoline with Speed Control only.

Horn relay located adjacent to the Speed Control Amplifier and/or the fuse box and steering column on the toe board under the dash.

On some 1978/79's, the horn relay plugged into the fuse box. Cannot find a picture for 1980/86 of the little charmer.
