Power windows kaput

Hey guys!

First post. I tried to search for the problem, but it seems most people have an issue with intermittent electrical issues and that's not really fitting the bill.

First of all, I have a 2000 Excursion limited. I bought her for dirt cheap because she has over 200k miles and is in bad shape in practically every sense of the word, but she runs and she gets me into the woods on occasion.

The problem at hand is that the windows just stopped working on a random night a couple weeks back. My wife and I were rolling them up at the same time, mine got closed and hers got about 3/4 way up and they stopped working. Everything else works... Mirrors, locks, etc.

I've tried all the switches, I've looked for burnt fuses (and I'm having very little luck finding a decent fuse diagram). I've replaced the master switch with an Ebay special, all with no luck. I also can't find anything regarding a relay for the windows.

I would love to avoid spending another $30 on another switch, given how unlikely it is that both the old and the previously owned switch were bad.

Anyone know exactly which fuse works the windows?
Is there a specific relay that might have gone bad?

My next step is getting a circuit tester out there and see if she's even getting power to the switch.

Thanks.

The reason I ask is because lots of Excursions and Superduty trucks had Gauge Cluster issues with the battery saver relay. Mine just crapped out and I had to make a jumper wire on the relay under the steering wheel access panel. The relay controls power to the radio and window motors only. You may have another issue. I’m not sure which fuse is for the windows, it seems like a hard thing to find anywhere on the internet.

I know, right? It's almost as if it's a secret. I can find diagrams for every other Ford product, it seems. Ahh well.

Where there any other symptoms of the battery saver relay issue? The battery's been dying on her every so often, but she sits for weeks at a time.

It is important to remember:

00-01 Excursions use the GEM (General Electronic Module) that controls windows and a bunch of other interior stuff.
02-05 Excursions DO NOT have a GEM. Troubleshooting interior electrical issues with an 02-05 will be different from a 00 or 01.
