So, when I bought my 2002 Limited with the 7.3 about a year ago the pax rear window would roll down but not up. I swapped the motor and door switch but that didn't fix the issue so I figured it's the master switch, haven't gotten around to replacing just yet.
However, over the past few months the aftermarket radio has started going out at totally random times, and when it does, all the windows stop working too. I know very little about electrical so I'm wondering if anyone knows, is the radio tied in through door switch or use the same power source and that would explain things if my master door switch is bad? Or did someone FUBAR when they installed this aftermarket POS and tie in to the wrong line?
The issue wasn't too annoying in the winter b/c the windows were never down but now the warm weather is here and I don't want to get stuck with windows down when I get to my destination!
The rear window is a separate issue. For all windows and the radio not working, there is an accessory delay relay in the fuse box. After the key is turned off this relay keeps the windows and radio powered for 10 minutes or until a door is opened. If this relay fails then those circuits would lose power.
If that fuse isn't it bad, which it isn't in mine, there is a battery saver relay that is on the back of the instrument cluster that cycles on and off.
When that cycles "off" all of the delay functions quit working i.e.; windows, radio, dome lights. In pouring through old threads I found a link to a site that fixes it. I just haven't taken the time to send them my cluster.
My rear passenger window does the same as yours but I hit the button on the master switch a little harder and it rolls up.
