Engine mount question

64 292 in a 56 f100
Hey guys the motor mount for my 292 has 3 holes in it can I use the two outside holes in the rubber mount or do I have to use the middle home and run s bolt threw it. The reason I'm asking is the two outside holes line up perfectly on the cross member. Thanks it for a 1956 f100

You need the center bolt to keep the rubber cups and pieces aligned. I am not sure the stock vehicle even had bolts in the outboard holes. I think the concept was for the engine roll to occur with just one center bolt. It was a long time ago that I pulled my original engine, so maybe somebody will come along with advice on the outboard holes.

This drawing from the original chassis parts catalog shows the outer two bolts hold the insulator to the mounting bracket. The center bolt attaches the mount assembly to the frame. It appears the holes in the crossmember should be large enough to allow clearance around the outer bolt heads. They would not attach there.

The description for the 6041 nut is 9/16"-18 special round. Your guess is as good as mine what that really means. It does appear somewhat square, as does the hole in the middle of the insulator. I gotta admit the 53-56 trucks are not my specialty.
