95 f150 SD to MAF conversion problem
The truck is a 95 F150 manual trans 5.0l
I swapped a 5.8l into it and had it running for about 3 years now
I recently tried to do a MAF conversion and now i have no spark
The computer im using is a HUG2 F4TF-12A650-APC
The computer is for a 5.0l Automatic truck, the date on the computer says 1/18/95
So the first thing I do is check the codes. I got a few of them because I have a manual truck and the computer is for an automatic. The one code that stuck out was a 654- trans not in Park. So I put some resistors in the wire for the Transmission Range sensor to equal the value for the sensor. Got that code cleared.
The other codes are these:
116- Engine coolant temp high or low
511- Rom test failure
565- Canister purge solenoid fault
621- shift solenoid 1
622- shift solenoid 2
624- pressure control solenoid fault
637- trans oil temp high
652- trans over temp
So the 116 has me baffled, I put a new sensor in, checked the resistance on the sensor, then checked the resistance of the sensor at the pins going into the ECM. It all comes up good.
and what is the 511? ROM test fail? does that mean it just couldnt do the whole test?
I repined the connector to fit the ECM, here are the two diagrams I went by:
So basically I just swapped my pins around to match the second diagram. I added in the 6 injector wires, MAF sensor wires, Intake temperature sensor wires and the resistor for the Park switch. I also plugged in an engine harness from a 95 f150 for the extra injector wires.
So right now I can smell gas coming out of the tailpipe which tells me its getting fuel. Im checking for spark and so far no spark. So I think something is telling the ECM to not let the engine start. Any help please?
And I did inspect it before putting it in. I think I also had it checked and got my chip from Pontisteve
its weird because just like 3-4 days ago it was running great!
And I thought Accel was a good brand... Well Motorcaft coil it is haha. Thanks For the help guys, I basically just started doing some checks with the ignition system and came down to putting power to the coil and grounding it to make it spark and no spark... Yep bad coil lol
