Hello, I am new to this forum and am having some issues with my air conditioning. So when i power on the AC settings 1-4 do not blow air. but i hear stuff working inside just no blowing of air at any of the settings. when driving cool air or warm air depending on what it is set to comes through the vents, this air is refrigerated or warmed but at idle nothing blows. i found recently that at idle(i was stuck on the high way not moving at all) the AC started functioning normal cold air and all the 1-4 settings work fine. it has done this a few times and only kicks on when idle for a few minutes. today it happened while i was texting and using my phone at the gas station it just started blowing wonderful cold air!!!. when i turn off my truck and turn it back on it does not work and im back to square one. usually when it did kick back on in idle while driving id turn the power to the AC off and then back on and it would work just fine. i cant afford to just shoot in the dark and buy some random parts. id have to fix this myself which if pointed in the proper direction i think i could do... please help a brother out y'all! thanks for any help in advance!

 

Sounds to me like the blower motor is what's failing. When it doesn't blow air you'll need to test for power at the motor leads. If there is power the motor is what's bad.
