Installed my CSF intercooler over the weekend. I picked it up on Amazon as a "used" item for $90, basically it was returned due to a blemish. Received it and all it had was a dent on the bottom of it. I pressure tested it to make sure it didn't leak a couple weeks ago and finally got time to install it over the weekend. Also replaced my boots with Riff Raff boots. Install was a lot easier than I anticipated and only took about 2 hours. I removed the radiator support bar to pull it out the top and install it the same way. I am not expecting any performance gains but just peace of mind knowing the plastic end tanks won't blow.
I ran a couple of wide open throttle pulls and didn't seem to have any leaks. I am running slightly lower boosts numbers, 28.8 vs 29.2 before the install. I've read others getting lower numbers when installing a new intercooler and they theorize that better flow equals slightly less boost numbers? I don't know, not too worried about it but it is interesting. I tipped my old intercooler on it's side to see if it had oil built up in it but nothing seems to be draining to the outlets, but there was oil in the tubes so I'm sure there is oil in the intercooler.
I recently installed the same one and it was a perfect fit and very beefy. I have not noticed a drop in boost but have a lot of new additions under the hood.
