DiPricols Installed - Boost Installed Correctly?

I had the DiPricols installed yesterday. (thanks Storm and his Bad *** 4x4)

I had them install the A-Pillar four gauge pod but only had the need for 3 guages at this time. Not sure yet what the 4th guage will be. I am sure I will find a need soon.

Every post I have seen says to drill and tap the elbow for the boost gauge. This shop installed it on the tube (pre-intercooler), exiting the turbo on the top, rear engine compartment. Seems like the boost reads a little high. Does boost drop post-intercooler?

boost drops through the intercooler due to normal pressure loss (extra space), and temp is higher pre cooler as well meaning more pressure.

Should I relocate to the elbow? Or will it make that much of a difference? It seems like it 5 points higher than the gauge on the dash.

Yes you need to move the boost port to the intake elbow. Its not accurate in the Intercooler pipe. I would be advising the shop they made an incorrect install, you want it fixed and a new intercooler pipe as well. You can't patch that hole, not correctly at least. Aluminum is far too thin to get by with a plug.

I took it back to the shop for three issues today.
1. Boost light didn't work. Wasn't plugged in.
2. Guages weren't hooked up to the dimmer switch.
3. Boost port relocation.

The owner said he would relocate but the reading will not be any different. However, the boost reading was 5 PSI less after the relocation.

I am worried now how they patched the hole. How much is the intercooler pipe?

Where did you get the guages from and how much were they. I had those guages on my 04 and when I get my 06 back I am going to remove the Banks and install a new set of guages.

You could tig weld it, but as thin as that is.. It's not going to take much to heat it up and burn a hole in it.. If it was me, I'd replace it.. However I am a Redneck so I'd run around with a bolt in it LMAO.. Just my crazy mind.. But for your peace of mind, it needs to be replaced..

I would recommend a fuel pressure guage as the fourth guage.
