Are you basing it not shifting into 3rd on engine RPM or by counting shifts? The C4 and C6 transmissions are 3 speeds with 3rd being 1:1. That means the engine will spin much faster then you might be used to if most of your experience is with over drive transmissions. My truck turns 3000+ RPM at 60 MPH.
If you are counting shifts, it's safe to ignore me...

I am counting shifts, but at about 45-50 mph, I’m at about 3,000 rpm, and never feel that third shift. I actually went ahead and took my truck to a transmission shop yesterday for a free estimate, so we will see what they determine.
You never will feel the third shift. A three speed transmission only shifts twice. It shifts 1-2 and then 2-3. There are no other gears.
My transmission is a C4. So I took my truck to a transmission shop. Showed up today at 3:30 to get an update and they had not had a chance to look at it. By 4:30, they called me, said “ Everything seems to be hooked up right, so I am not sure as to what it is, I will need to drop the transmission and see what’s going on” theygave me a quote of between $900- $1,400. I feel like only about an hour and they checked all other possible issues, vacumns ect.... seemed kinda fishy, so I picked it up. I found another trans shop in my area to take it to in the morning, guy on the phone seemed honest and said he would go through everything, but it sounds like a vacumn issue.... we will see.
