My 1972 F-250 has 8-lug/bolt rims. Trouble is they are split rims and no one will touch them. So I need a different set. What years of Ford 8-lug were compatible?
IDK if it makes a difference but some have mentioned an inner lip on some years.
F-250/350 SRW till 1998, and E-250/350 to 2013. DO NOT GET SUPER DUTY WHEELS as they are 8 x 170mm, not 8 x 6 1/2" pattern. These wheels are 16". Do not use 16.5" wheels as these are very obsolete and probably can't find tires. You can step up to 17" Dodge/Fiat Ram wheels or larger as tires could be cheaper. Only check to make sure the hub is the same size as your original wheels.
Found a 85 E-350 with dual rear wheels but it has 16.5's? It has decent later model radials so I think tires are still available for these. I'm gonna go look at them today.

You do NOT want to use DRW's on a truck with SRW's!

Thank you,
Ben
I went tire shopping for 16.5" tires and was astonished. It used to be that they were really common, and very much the "workhorse" tire. The only ones I could find were more than $400 EACH.
I'm not enough of a purist to pay for them.
I checked the junk yards and found a set of 5 rims that were 16". IIRC, they were about $125 for the set, and I had to drive about 70 miles round trip to fetch them.
Compared to buying the 16.5" tires, there was an immediate savings on the cost of the tires, and there will be additional savings the next time I buy tires.
That, and I don't have to take my pick-up to the Goodyear Commercial Tire Center in order to have them deal with the split rims. The last time I went there, they sold me a set of Firestones. The following Monday, those Firestones stopped the truck (panic stop), but the guy in the Toyota behind me didn't... and totaled my truck.
I think the "inner" vs. "outer" designation has to do with how the hub caps are held by the rim.
