visual inspection of up pipes looks good. Boost gauge looks good. How would you diagnose a leak?
I've since learned that the plenums really are the primary culprit but you cannot tighten them very much as they are thin metal and will collapse easily. Thus the need to use inserts:
Has your speedo been recalibrated for the larger than stock tires? I average 11 mpg towing/hauling 11.5K lbs trailer and golf cart with 265 stock tires.
If you want to use your iPhone as a gauge set, you need a WiFi OBDII adapter - which has significant lag and drives the price way up. I use an Android tablet with the OBDLink MX Bluetooth adapter, and I made a thread here [LINK] to support others who like this configuration

Yes and yes. I monitor/log daily driving with TP, but I use FORScan for troubleshooting.

Im on my phone so somewhat limited with visibility and patience to search. Lol thx so much.
For a "carputer", it's nice to have something to keep you entertained in hotel rooms. One time, the TV in our hotel room lost its cable connection, so I used my Google Nexus 7 (2013 version) with screen cast to send Netflix to the TV (I have a screen cast receiver with HDMI output in my backpack).
I use it for email, googling things, google earth, Waze... all kinds of stuff. I'm thinking of putting a WiFi camera on the back of the boat while I'm towing it, allowing me to see the camera with the tablet.
ASUS made the Nexus, and their latest device for less than $200 is the Zenpad Z8. Samsung makes a sub $200 called the "Galaxy Tab A". 7"-8" display hits the sweet spot for readability from a distance with the number of gauges I have, plus it clears my knee and leaves room to see my below-dash gauges. Just be careful with the overly Chinese stuff (sub $100)... they come up short on features and screen resolution.
Oh... and if a device "brags" about having Android Lollipop... my five-year-old Google tablet was automatically upgraded to Marshmallow, and my Pixel 2 phone has Oreo.
Great info. Thx
ok i will not need to pull it out of the truck as im traveling with the fully loaded travel trailer and have ipads laptops computer tv’s on board and no need for cameras. So this will strictly be carputer. 8 inch looks like the sweet spot. Im going to pull your guages. Knowing that info what model is still serviceable and potentially under $100? I see various refurbished units out there and these amazon fire things. Trying to get this done on the cheap but want it to be a working solution for some time
I have a 99 F250 crew cab. I've done more preventative stuff than I can list here. Stock injectors DP Tuner chip.. Don't say it.. It has 245000 miles on it. We tow a 10500lb 38' travel trailer with a golf cart in the bed and we get a solid 12mpg hand calculated. I rarely take it out of OD and even in 90 95 degree summer heat the trans temp stays at about 165 and it never hunts between gears.
I was able to pick up a brand new Galaxy Tab A 8.0 open box for $120 on Ebay just a week ago and they had several others. It updated itself to the 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and I am quite happy with it so far.
Ok tablet and stuff is set. Once i get it installed and ready i will ask what i need to do.
In the meantime i am driving tomorrow, how should i drive? Slow acceleration? Od off? Stock tune? What can i do now?
