Electric vacuum pump on my 7.3
Getting ready to attack the vacum pump in my 02 F350 I have the default defrosters which I have researched to a vacuum problem.
My question is if my electric vacuum pump is not working I pulled hoses off and nothing there is there a different system that assists the breaks?
And the 4x4 selector is it vacuum or electric? I still have 4x4 with manual hubs.
could someone give me a crash course.

Is the Pump running following startup? If not, the first step is to ensure you have 12vdc at the Two Wire Connector which attaches to the Electric Pump.
If that all checks out (or the Pump activates anyway) use a tool and crimp the vacuum line where it splits off into two and see if the Pump Stops. If so, move to either of the lines after the split. This will isolate which side HVAC/ESOF has the leak. Identify and correct.

It has good possibilities, the ultimate test of that pump would be to pull the hose off of it that feeds the vacuum tank and see if that makes the pump run with the key on. If it doesn't run you're right on track, if it runs place a finger on that inlet and it should shut off almost instantaneously if it is working correctly.
