Since new- 2016 F350 6.7 oil temp runs 203-205 degrees in town flat surface normal driving. Any small hill or load oil temp goes up fast to 220-230 Pulling a dump trailer apx. 4000-5000lb oil temp goes to 240-250 degrees. Pulling 32ft goose neck with John Deere 310 back hoe oil temp runs 350-362 degrees. The water temp will get hot then the electric fans kick on and stay on until the load is done. Since new it's been to every Ford Dealership in Albuquerque, New Oil Cooler at about 2000 miles, no one knows whats wrong and say it's normal and within specs and I don't see how. It seams to me there is a restriction causing the oil to get very hot under even a minor load. Plugged oil journals, lines, something ??? PLEASE HELP
Are you sure the oil is getting that hot or its the sending unit/gauge/computer not working properly?
Those numbers sound extremely high. Have you tried a hand held temperature gun/gauge on the engine pan?
My oil runs around 200 when unloaded around town and when pulling my 5th wheel it can get as high as 240. I only use synthetic oil because of this. Sounds normal to me.

I think you meant to type 250-262, which would be normal and within spec. I can't see adding a bit heavier trailer going over 100 degree jump in oil temp. No dealer would say that's within spec, plus you'd have thrown codes, gone into limp mode, and shut down long before it reached those temps.
250-262 is normal for towing heavy. Plus you're at elevation and near mountains in Alb. I see the same temps hauling around Denver.
These modern diesels do run hotter, and they are designed that way. Nothing to worry about.
Those temps do appear to be a little high even if it's within specs.
This was my truck pulling a 7k landscape trailer on the expressway last July in 98° ambient temps with small rolling hills. It never went above 218°
But ya gotta remember..........7 k is like nothing behind these! Pulling 18 k 2 years ago up a 6% grade for several miles at 108*F mine got up to 248 for a few minutes.
I still was not concerned because by then I was at the top of the hill.
That's why I posted my results with a load closer to his dump trailer. OP had oil temps close to yours with a load lighter than mine on a slight hill. It doesn't appear normal to have oil temps in the 240-250 range unless your over 12k uphill.
