Build is done, Base XLT, (no value added package and carpet delete) or STX with exact options. STX is $940 less $46,800 verses $45,860 MSRP, and only difference I can see is a little Plastic Chrome interior trim. Anything I am missing?
I would also like to know a definite answer. I went back and forth as well, but ultimately went with the XLT with the value package. I work nights, so the fog lights won in the end. I added OEM fog lights to my last few trucks...so I was tired of doing that.
It looks like the base XLT comes with steering wheel controls, cruise control, the larger screen in the gauge cluster, SYNC, the USB & 12V charger as well as a cubby under the center stack HVAC controls, and maybe a couple other little things judging by Ford's build & price pictures and descriptions....
I ordered well optioned 19’ STX and couldn’t justify the extra $1500 or so msrp, for a bit of chrome on the doors, air vents, different cloth seats, locking storage under rear seat, etc. Also the instrument cluster is 4.2 vs 2.3 I believe. Sync does come standard on XLT. I opted for SYNC 3 with 360 cameras. Dealer told me they are mainly selling STX and Lariats.
Im thinking this trim level may be the one to beat when compared to XLT .Time will tell.

I'm 99% sure you will get the 4.2 instrument cluster with the Sync3/360. I know others have previously on their 17s.
Actually, I can confirm this week sometime as I will be picking up an 18 STX with Sync3/360
For me, this decision was more about what I didn't want than what I wanted. I don't want a console or power seats, or power mirrors, or power pedals, and I don't think fogs are that important either. I plan on keeping for a long time and don't want power stuff that can go wrong and effect basic functionality. With that said, I like some fancy tech like Sync3+cameras. The STX had a 2K incentive that was running at the time didn't hurt.
According to Ford, here’s all the stuff that an XLT has over an XL. Some of this stuff is included in the STX package.

Trade in or resale value is usually better on a lighter optioned higher trim than a fully loaded lower trim. Sometimes more than the new cost.
Just something to consider.
I was thinking the same thing. I mentioned it was $940 more for the XLT, both with same options, including Options on STX to match XLT standard equipment like Privacy glass and Trailer Brake controller, etc. Keep my trucks, last f250 XLT was 8+ years, current f350 XL I've had 11+ years. May be worth the $940 on a MSRP of $46K.
We are all missing something. Not sure why Ford would make 2 exact same trucks (minus the logos) cost $940 different.
I thought I was missing something, but it may be more than the $940, like the XLT Badge and the little "perks" that make a difference if u are one that trades every 4 or 5 years. Also with the XLT package there is a lot more Options available that are not available for the STX, like the XLT "added value package" for starters, which most XLT's have, $1600 plus the $940= $2540 difference. I just don't have the need, nor want power seat and fog lamps, had them, never used them in the past, money better spent elsewhere, IMO. Don't take long, and you are at $50K, past my price point.
