This may have been brought up before, but I couldn't find an answer anywhere. I monitor my engine parameters using DashCommander and and OBDII sending unit.
I'm wondering what everyone gets for their temperatures during regens. I've been hitting 1250 degrees F with sometime rising at 1300 for a few seconds. This is at Bank 1 sensor 3 which from what I understand is the correct one to monitor. Sensor 4 gets pretty hot also. My normal operating temp are usually around the 400 to 500 running without a tow, and about 800 when towing a 14000 lbs 5th wheel.
Just trying to see what the average is.. If anyone else is OCD like I am, and monitors this stuff, please chime in
The1250 is a little high but probably ok. I see about 1150 on EGT 4 during regen. The normal temps are in the 500-550 range except when towing when they go closer to 700-750.
I agree that 1250 seems high, but I did notice that when I changed my #3 sensor due to failure just last week, the readings were about 100 to 150 degrees lower than before. So I'm thinking that the sensors are off a little. Like I said above, the normal operating termps are normal, but just the regen readings seem high. Hope others can chime in also. The truck is running incredibly well, and my average MPG is 18 to 20 mpg when not towing. 11 with a 14000 lb RV
