My pops is running a stock 6.4 in his 08 and got a bully dog programer, and it will defuel at 1200 * F. It doesn't take much to get it to that temp either. So what's a safe.temp to run it up to?
During regen, these trucks can get up to 1500+ degrees. I think most are due fueling at 1400-1450. But if you set it that high, it's not recommended not to hold it there for very long. Maybe a 0-60 or 1/4 mile run. Which I'm sure he's not doing.
Is he just using the factory sensor or did he add the secondry one?
He is using the factory sensor. I've read other places that 1600 is where defueling should be set...
You'll be fine at 1600 deg F. for a high warning. I wouldn't hold that for very long though. These are really made to withstand heat due to the regen ptocess.
Its "factory defueling" setting was at 1200, so when regen hit it would defuel. N I didn't think that was right so I upped it to 1400 and told pops I'd do some research for him.
