idlers and tensioner ,,, clearly YOU do not live in the Rust belt..
at 138,000 miles I had loose bearings for 2 idlers. and the tensioner was Rusted and offered little tension on the serpentine belt...
on my 6.2L....2012.
Why the change of the idlers and tensioner? I've never changed them on any Ford of mine. But with my daily driver Infiniti, I've had to replace them all between 100K and120K miles due to bearing noise (one seized and unthreaded itself from the block). Were you hearing anything, or just preventive?
I'm of the mindset that those are maintenance items. When I change the belt on anything, it gets a new tensioner and new idler pulleys (if it has them). I had a tensioner on my Duramax explode at around 98k- it took out the radiator, shroud, fan and cracked the plastic tank on the CAC to the tune of $2000. $50 for a tensioner and two pulleys is nothing in comparison.

Chuck,
I did the plugs on my 6.2L a week or so back.
Was using an 18" platform and finally just used some cardboard and an old blanket and just made a spot to sit on on top of the Ranch Hand bumper and grill/support to reach them all.
I'm 6'6" with 38" sleeves and couldn't get to them all from the platform. Not even close.
Wife thought it looked funny as Hell..
