Hey all. I am wondering what tuner I should get to do an "on-road" tune. I have no intentions of deleting the DEF system. I know I can't buy a tuner in the state but I can get one. How much of a power increase can I get with a tune only? I know it's a completely different animal but a CAI and SCT tuner with a Steeda tune made all of the difference in the world on my 13 Mustang GT 5.0. I figure a tune is easy enough to back off of when its time to get smogged and isn't too obvious if CHP pokes around. I'm not sure if I'll even do it but I like to know my options.
Not being mind readers, we have no way to answer because we have no idea what engine you have. Plus, since this is the NorCal Chapter, you need to go to the forum that covers whichever engine you have in your truck and post in that tech forum.
Since this isn't a tech forum, your best help will come from the proper diesel forum for your rig.
Peruse the diesel section and dive in with your questions. Most of us here are a good bunch of folks from across everywhere, and we like to help people spend their money!
Definitely go over to the 6.7 diesel forum and post questions there. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum205/ . But while we're here, I too have an SCT tuner. Not sure if Gearhead Auto has tunes for the 6.7, buy I'd assume that they do. I'm using Gearhead Automotive tunes in my 6.0 and they're working very well for me. https://www.gearheadautomotiveperformance.com
Give them a call and see if they can do something for ya.
