I have a 66 f100. Bought it without the firewall insulation. I have one to install. I know it takes 6 of the pins that flare out upon installation. Can anyone post a picture or tell me where the pins go please?
Ben,
I could only find that I used 4 of the push pin types for that install. See pictures. BTW, the center hump pin, The one behind the heater, I could not push the pin enough to get it to stay in. I had to put a nut on the pin inside the engine compartment to keep it in. It was just to thick at that point. Anyway here are the four I could find from divers side to passenger. Good Luck
I see you have the deluxe version. You have the upgraded heat set up and the firewall insulation looks great, almost like leather. Mine does not look like that.
Ben, it looks like Rich stepped away but that's the same reproduction ABS plastic firewall cover that seems to be available from most of the vendors. The original was smooth without much grain if any at all and was not made of ABS plastic but more like a thick cardboard. If you are reinstalling an original it will look different than a reproduction.
If you recall this truck - you can see the same firewall cover here if you scroll down a few pictures. And if you don't see the pictures there is an add-in for that depending on which browser you use.
I know what you mean - both of my 4x4 trucks have their originals still. I couldn't save the 2x4 original since the desert sun had cooked it too much. Brittle.
