Good to know. Still new to this diesel world, so I'm learning.
Now, where to mount a single gauge...... pillar? I like the idea of the E650 dash conversion, but I really don't need a gauge pod when I have Torque for my few and far between trips.

The app alone will not measure EGT because it is not something that our trucks already monitor internally. You will have to get an EGT probe to put in the manifold and a gauge or digital display to read it. I am not sure if there is a way to get Torque Pro to read the signal from the EGT probe.

My experience with EGTs while running empty is that you don't have to worry about it unless you're running a really hot tune. Despite my best efforts, I'm unable to get my truck past about 1100 when it's empty. Back when my up-pipes were leaking badly, EGTs were normal when empty and only spiked noticeably when I hooked the RV up to it.

The easiest way to mount a single gage IMO is on the pillar, the steering column, or a universal pod mounted wherever you want on the dash. There are many options though:
Having egt gauges, when a boot was not tight enough, i noticed high egt and fuel consumption...whats your mpg?
Before I put the new 275/65/20 tire/wheel package on last weekend, i was right at 16 highway. I hand calculate at each fill up, and that was a pretty standard MPG. I'm expecting it to increase a little with the new tires.
I would like more MPG, but I'm satisfied for the time being. I mean, it is a nearly 9k pound vehicle.

My EGT gauge hung out on a microfiber cleaning cloth on the dash for a long time. No a wash cloth will not work lol.
Since then I went to a single gloshift pillar pod. Fit was poor.
I now have an Autometer quad pillar pod. Fit is good. I have 2 open spots for future use if needed.
What are you using to hang your Tablets on? I have one on the way and am looking for mounting options that don't cost an arm and leg, are out of the way, and readable.

Brandon,
That's in my price range. What did you mount it to?
I took off the access panel below the steering wheel and used an existing bolt. I was going to cut the panel so I can put it back but never did. Need to finish this.
